Who We Are
Green Mission is a nonprofit organization devoted to community improvement—one project at a time.
We believe Monahans is worth our time, our energy, and our money.
Our work begins with our flagship project, the Main Street Greenhouse, but our vision reaches beyond any single building. Green Mission exists to restore neglected spaces, cultivate opportunity, teach stewardship, and invest in people—especially here, at home.
There are no paid employees at Green Mission. Quite the opposite. Every board member and volunteer gives their time freely, and many of us contribute financially as well. We are not here to profit. We are here to serve.
How We Work
Green Mission takes a practical, hands-on approach to renewal. We believe meaningful change happens when people show up, roll up their sleeves, and commit to doing something rather than nothing.
Our projects emphasize:
Community involvement
Practical skills and education
Stewardship of land and resources
Service to people in need
Long-term sustainability rather than quick fixes
Each project is shaped by local relationships and local needs, because lasting change must grow from the ground it’s planted in.
Our Board
Green Mission is guided by a volunteer board representing a cross-section of Monahans, spanning education, law, business, agriculture, real estate, faith-based service, and community leadership. Each board member serves without compensation and contributes time, resources, and expertise in support of the mission.
Loren Davy
A local realtor, Loren Davy is known for integrity and generosity. Years before Green Mission was formed, he demonstrated those values by freely giving to people in need. Loren played a key role in negotiating a fair and balanced lease agreement for the Main Street Greenhouse, ensuring a cooperative relationship that serves both the project and the property owner.
Linda G. Hinojos
As the owner of the Main Street Greenhouse property, Linda Hinojos made the flagship project possible by believing in the vision and offering encouragement from the beginning. Her willingness to partner in the restoration of a long-neglected space has been foundational to Green Mission’s work.
Renee Light
A Monahans native, mother, and grandmother of Monahans High School graduates, Renee Light serves as Green Mission’s treasurer. She has donated hydroponic growing equipment to the organization and contributes her financial oversight and community-minded perspective with a focus on long-term benefit for future generations.
Dusty Ronning
Known throughout Monahans for her generosity and work ethic, Dusty Ronning has long invested quietly in people and projects that strengthen the community. She has supported Green Mission from its earliest stages, including investing in leadership development and business training to help establish a strong organizational foundation.
Sarah Stogner
Serving as the district attorney, Sarah Stogner brings a commitment to honesty, accountability, and service. She participated in the earliest greenhouse workdays and helped shape Green Mission’s partnership with Juvenile Probation, creating opportunities for young people to complete community service while learning practical skills, environmental stewardship, and compassion for others.
Amanda Prather
An entrepreneur, homemaker, gardener, and homesteader, Amanda Prather brings experience in sustainable living, small-scale food production, and community engagement. A familiar presence at local events, she helps guide Green Mission toward responsible, sustainable growth.
Clint Williams
A fourth generation Monahans resident, Clint Williams comes from a family with deep ties to the community. A science educator with 25 years of experience, he has also spent more than a decade working with recovering addicts and serving in faith-based education. His background in teaching, service, and community engagement informs Green Mission’s practical, people-centered approach.
